Spent a few days in Hots Springs, South Dakota kicking back and hitting a trail in a near by state park.

Thw town of Hot Springs was small and quaint with friendly people and good food. and its very own waterfall the feeds into the Fall river. We took a long walk along the river after dinner at the 309 General restaurant in town.

David enjoyed the "Best Burger" at the 309.

Next mornoing we took a hike along Lovers leap trail. The trails list had it as a moderate hike, but there were definitely some steep uphill that could easily have this upgraded to a Moderate-Strenuous hike, but we made it and were not even tempted to leap. 😇😁

Due to a fire in the 80's there was a huge burn area, but just like the Sequoias the Pine's seeds are dropped and grow post fire as you can see here with all the new saplings

Did I mention there is gold in them there hills

Along the drive out to the hike we saw some buffalo roaming in the parking lot.

Day was ended with soak in the Moccasin Springs pools. The 2 hour soak was cut short by an hour due to a thunderstorm rolling in. Took these shots while we waited for the storm to pass, which didn't. But still had a nice soak in this beautiful natural hot Springs.

Kathy Moloughney, you would have loved this place.
