We reached the most western point of our trip - Sequoia National Park.

Spent the first full day walking through the Big Trees Trail and visiting General Sherman as we walked the Congress Trail.

As we drove up the mountain to get to the trees and trails, we were continually amazed at the beautiful mountains and landscapes surrounding us.

After arriving in the park, our first stop was to see the Giant Sequoia Trees. After all, that is what we traveled 2900+ miles to see. 😎 Big Trees Trail here we come... the trees grew arouns a meadow, where the water from the mountains collects. The sequoia trees will not grow in the meadow as it is too wet; however they do need lots of water and there roots will work to get what they need from the meadow.
